Kristy Boyd Johnson is a storytelling powerhouse with a pen dipped in magic and a brain wired for both wit and wonder. A multi-genre writer and editor, she’s especially known for spinning children’s tales that sneak in big ideas with a featherlight touch—think quirky, clever, and just a little bit “hmm…”
Her middle grade novel Doofus stars a bug whisperer in serious trouble (because obviously), and her young reader series Lily Star, Monster Hunter is packed with sass, smarts, and monsters that don’t always… well, never… behave like monsters should.
When she’s not conjuring up stories, Kristy runs the Barefoot Writer’s Club, her cozy-but-kickass community where writers connect, learn, and celebrate their creative chaos without shame, guilt, or diving into a vat of ice cream to fight the tears.
With over 35 ghostwritten books under her belt for entrepreneurs and countless more edited (many of which turned into bestsellers), Kristy is the go-to secret weapon behind a whole lot of literary wins. She holds an M.F.A. in Professional Screenwriting from National University, where she graduated with honors—because of course she did.
Off the page, Kristy is a book-devouring, yoga-stretching, improv-loving creative whirlwind who lives in Idaho with her family, her cats, and a bookcase full of too many notebooks.
